Our two turkish villas in Ciftlik, South West Turkey, are in a region with a rich history and culture. This area of Turkey is known as the Turquoise Coast. The sea is a beautiful blue, and the scenery is stunning. There are lots of sites to explore, the villas are close to the beach and to marinas where boats can be hired for trips and cruises. Picturesque towns, great shopping and excellent food make this a wonderful region for holidays.
- Calis - our nearest town - picturesque, with a long beach, shops, restaurants and bars
- Fethiye - only 15 minutes drive - rock tombs and other historic sites, supermarkets, bazaar, Tuesday Market, Fish market and marina. Hire boats for trips and cruises around the bay, an excellent day out.
- Oludeniz and blue lagoon - much photographed, very beautiful bay with beautiful clear blue water. Also a location for paragliding and water sports.
- Saklikent gorge - walk through icy waters to the gorge, where the walls are so steep the sun often only occasionally filters through to ground level. An excellent place to escape the summer's heat, great fun to explore. Round the day off with a meal at one of the local restaurants, with wooden platforms overlooking the river.
- Walking and biking - the Lycian coast is an excellent place to explore by bike or by foot. Winter temperatures in Ciftlik are usually very mild, making this a great time to avoid the crowds and take in some of the less well known sights.
- Active holidays - Rafting, horse riding, paragliding and snorkelling are all available locally, and there is an Aquapark in Calis.
- Gocek - this very pretty, laid back marina popular with the sailing set is a 15 minute drive away.
- Historic sites - include the ruins and amphitheatre at Tlos and Xanthos, both well worth a visit, rock tombs at Fethiye and the abandoned village at Kaya
